    Hello Friends,

Sharing this for fun... but happy to hear all you have to say I spent a great deal of time with this lioness and you already saw quite a number of images of her... If not too many! This time I thought I'd put a smile on your face

    Nikon D5
    Nikon 500 mm F4
    ISO 1000
    F9
    1/1600s

PS. Did not remove any vegetation in the BG although I do realise the branch on the LRC is quite distracting, also the shadow on the left is a bit of an issue to me. Cannot remember sharing an image where the subject has its eyes closed...But she is so cute... I just could not resist

Hope you have a happy rest of the week, thank you so much for viewing...

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Gabriela a fun image for sure ... would be good for a series !!!
As a single image it is not grabbing me that much ... i think the DOF has to be more IMHO .
Nice detail in the kissable muzzle ... good luck with that kiss. But the detail slightly coarse ... might hurt your lips .

Surprised to see that noise at 1000 Iso ???

    Gabriela:

Certainly made me smile. Some images go beyond just the techs, touch emotions.

This lioness looks to be enjoying the warm sunshine. Nice detail and light. Like the framing as well.

Thank you Andreas, Randy, and John

Andreas I cannot remember for sure but it might have been a fairly large crop. And yes I agree, more DoF needed... but at the time I was just playing so I shot at various apertures, just liked this one more because it shows the "lips" better. Didn't plan to post it and it's been lying there in a folder for about a year now, found the jpg the other day and thought it would be fun to show you.

Tell you more about this image a bit later, I am late for work now

    Have a wonderful day!

Hi Gabriela -- A fun image for sure and I liked that expression . Details are slightly coarse as per my taste, also DOF could have been more but still up there. I would preferred a cleaner bkg, the lrc twig is catching my eye, but the expression is certainly quite amusing.

For me it a very appealing image, I personally like the hint of vegetation in the background it provides a little hint of context. The noise is for me not particularly noticeable - perhaps more so in the shadow centre left, details look good.
I suspect my eyes are still pretty good but not as good as they used to be..... but are we pixel peeping and perhaps at the expense of enjoying the presentation of images?? I can't hep but feel at this magnification the finer details would look pretty large in the image and unless this was say f16 I think the ears would not perfectly sharp. Perhaps we look more critically in different ways and perhaps some see more clearly than I?
