    Default Cape Shoveler - Male

This is a male Cape Shoveler speeding over the sewerage works in Cape Town during my december holidays. This day was unfortunately very overcast, but the clouds were quite low and thin, so there was a bit of light coming through to show up the colours. Taken early morning.

Hi Stu .... top notch BIF shot , saying this with my hairy photographic BG ... LOL .
Love the colors and the kit delivered quite nice IQ , albeit being old stuff .

Just watch the blacks ... a bit heavy IMHO ... masking some detail .

Thanks Andreas. We all wish for new kit if we have the funds.

    Stu:

Excellent full downstroke pose, love the splash of color. I agree with Andreas about the blacks being a bit intense.

The whites are pretty warm and might back them off to see if more detail might be available .

    Cheers

Superb flight shot with great colors, detail and flight pose. I would also consider lifting the darks and toning down the whites just a bit.

The flight pose is right on. Nice view of that near wing. The colors are great. Solid background as well.

This is excellent Stu. Perfect wing position and I love the colors of the sky.
    Tack sharp with nice light.
I bet you did a happy dance when you brought this up in the computer!

Pretty much like our Northern Shovelers in NA.. Excellent subjects, fly fast, nice work.
