    Default Cub on the run...

    Attached Images Attached Images

This wee fellow was so engrossed in us that he hadn't noticed Mum move off, she was fine, but suddenly the cub panicked and ran over the ice flow to catch up with her. There was no pressure as she was only about 50m away, but in the undulating pack ice the cub clearly didn't see her, but her scent was strong enough.

I probably hit the dial by mistake because I had it at 1/1600, so I think I will try to remember to lock the back dial to avoid things like this happening.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Hi Steve, a lovely image with the little fellow sliding down the pack ice. Colours and comp superb as usual. Good tip on locking the back dial in the field.

    Good evening Steve,
Love the action you captured here from the 'wee fellow' with his large pawsBut what also grabs me is those amazing colours of the pack ice, the turquoise blue and light purple - what beauty!

Well exposed and very nice composition, positioning of the subject within the frame is great. Beautiful detail. I like those bits of ice falling

In fact I like everything about this, there's movement and drama and fantastic colours, you really know how to tell a story with just one image - stunning work, Steve!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Polar bear! Neat frame of this cub scaling down that ice. Love the blue color in the ice. The detail is killer as well.
