    This was shot shortly before my previous post, at Nickerson Beach last August. I know some eye contact would have been nice, but I liked the moment.

    D500, 500PF, ISO 2000, 1/2500s @ f/6.3 manual.

    Bill:

    Nicely exposed, like the open bill and food item. If the landing bird had been angled more towards the other bird, would have really upped the story telling aspect. I might consider cloning out the green/yellow just above the flying birds wing.

    I like it.. I would crop off the right side to just behind the tail.

    Cropping at right, or adding a bit of canvas at left, are both options IMO. The vegetation behind the wingtip is bad luck, but not too distracting. Good whites and blacks, and fun interaction between parent and young one.

    That the frame is so clean help make up for the recognized lack of eye contact. Both birds are super sharp, so that's a big bonus. Exposure looks spot on.

    Classic nickerson frame. Nice to catch them in a clean area. Maybe you cleaned it up some, if so good job. Nice view of the fish.
