    Default Kestrel

A female Kestrel perches on a rock at Lonavala dam near Pune, Maharashtra, India. The Bird typically perches on the small and large rocks on the river bed and banks. I liked the shape of this rock and it made a great perch for the raptor I guess.

Wonderful environment and you couldn't have a better perch for this stately beauty. TFS

Yes indeed...a great capture. If it were mine I'd clone out the oof blade of grass at the bottom of the stone and the white bits to the right and above it. TFS

    Great perch and pose.
Just wish for a better HA and that the bird was sharper. I would definitely sharpen the head some more.
If you have enough pixels you could crop up from the bottom to just above the bird droppings. The tighter crop focuses the viewer's eye on the kestrel.

Agree with Gail, this one is soft too. Did you have some heart shimmers or focus issues? too bad his HA wasn't perfect but it's a handsome bird on a good perch

Nice of the kestrel to stand on the highest rock for you. The framing is right on. Also like the pose and the view of the feet.
