    Default Spotted Owl

    Hi All,
I am posting in Avian after a while. Mostly active in wildlife. This was a spotted owl we saw near Pune, India. The small in frame shows the habitat and that funky looking hole that the owl family called its home I guess! These were owlets in the hole which disappeared inside when the patent came calling.

The expression is priceless Sanjeev, but for me, the low SS is a killer.

Priceless Expression. I would clone out double catch lights to have more impact.

    Very nicely done.

    I love the expression.
Bird is nice and sharp- all that wood overwhelms the bird and I would look at a different crop taking some off the right and adding to the left.

Thanks a lot everyone. Steve I agree with the SS. But had the TC on the 100 400. Gail, for the theme I kept it small in frame.

Sanjeev, why didn’t you use the 500 with the 1.4 and the 5D?

Steve, I had gone to Pune city for a conference and had carried this gear just in case I get the opportunity. It turned out I got a chance for some amazing birding with a friend. I will share soon. Never expected it so missed the 500mm a lot.

That's fine Sanjeev and I know what you mean about the 500, mine is 'surgically' removed.

Great expression of the owls face. Love the setting and those yellow eyes. Looks good image quality wise for the ISO.
