AS I'm sure Jon Ashton will testify, this can be a great but frustrating place for the shorties. The marshland they like is usually against the sun, but occasionally they fly onto the golf course for the best sun angles. However, this was a windy day, so great light but no activity despite 2 hours stood freezing. Then the sun goes behind cloud, the winds drop and the birds came out to play in the dull light. A passing walker told us they were showing well 200 yards away, so I left the other photographers and got a decent fly past
