Hi folks ...a very old file , almost 10 years old .
Already that long ago , that i have been to Donna Nook in good old UK !!!
Old kit was used and the used techs .... OMG , thinking and kit has changed a lot over the years . The location also changed in terms of possible shootings .... no longer the place to be for Grey Seal photography , due to massive restrictions by the local government . The seal population has grown really good , as it happened on Helgoland in germany . The more seals .... more restrictions , somehow not understandable at some point !!!
But we have to take it as it is !!!

Hope you like it , kept the colors as i thought they were ..... winter sun and slightly !!! pushed for my pleasure

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
EF 5,6 800 mm ( that unbelievable big gun )
    Tripod

    F 8 ; Iso 400 ; 1/500 sec .... LOL !!

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; cropped for comp

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting .

    Cheers Andreas

Looks good to me Andreas I don't really understand why you undermine your techs, you may use a faster shutter speed now and a higher ISO but if the light is ok and the subject static I don't see much to ridicule??
I suppose there would be slightly better detail with a 1DX II but this looks pretty respectable to me.

    Hello Andreas!
Pretty sharp and some nice detail, considering the 'old gear' you mentioned as well as 'old thinking'. And I just noticed you've been a member here on BPN for almost 10 years, in August we're celebrating Boetie

Another thing I notice is the reflection of those whiskers in the water, pretty cool:) So what's not to like here? Lovely sweet pose from Goldie who is well positioned within the frame, good thinking on DoF, FG and BG both lovely, really nice POV.

So no complaints from me, I like this as presented - many thanks for sharing Andreas, and hope you have a wonderful evening!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    Lovely light, lovely frame.

If the techs are right, then the kit almost becomes secondary, however it appears now that it's the amount of pixels you have, that is the driving force, useful if you like to crop hard perhaps?

It might be 10 years old, but you have a nice perspective, good DoF and an appealing subject, what's not to like?

    Glad you did.

Old file but it looks great. The light is sweet with a nice view point as well.
