Not as common in my part of the world, as the name suggests. This one was hanging around with a large flock of Black Headed Gulls, on a local loch.

Nice shot of him coming at you. Good details including nice clear eye, although I might consider removing the double catchlight (albeit natural). Very minor nit.

Image is nice, Agree with catch light. Framing is a bit too tight for me.

Sharp and the shoreline is positioned nicely (as opposed to being in the middle of the frame ...) Too tight for me also.

Hi Will, I really like the diagonal flight pose across the frame. Nice and sharp, showing good feather detail, and the Gull really pops against the OOF BG.
My son spent 10 day in Edinburgh at the beginning of Jan. He is planning to emigrate there in the near future.

Yes too tight, but what a pose. The diaganol line the bird creates is great. Light was nice.

    Very nice Will.
I quite like this tight crop- really shows the gull well. A looser crop would also work nicely.
Tack sharp and great body position.
    Nice BG too!
