    I wouldn't know how to critique here, as I have never really tried this. For me, I like it, but I find the BG a wee bit too bright.

    The backlighting is nice here. I would remove those circles at the bottom. Maybe try to tone the sky down some.

    I think this is an interesting and creative take on this species. I agree the BG is a tad bright, and you can certainly drop the levels a bit without blacking out the subject (I like the lighting on it as is). I might also clone out the water drops as they don't seem to be related to the subject, but that's more personal preference than anything.
