A young Polar bear cub was trying to catch up with Mum on the pack ice and throw a view, as the shutter went off.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

He looks familiar! A pretty spectacular image Steve, the bear shows well against the snow in which I note you have retained a hint of blue. The head and right fore paw are nicely aligned I think this adds impact. Composition looks fine.

Superb timing here and truly a stunning photograph, Steve. It must be so rewarding, coming home from a trip with such awesome captures.

Wonderful pose, eye contact and I just love that raised paw. Placement of the subject in the frame is aesthetically pleasing, beautiful detail as always.
A well executed frame and PP work is faultless - a pleasure to view, thank you so much for sharing

    Warmest regards,

A hint for the 'Glacier mint' effect Jon.

Missed a few too Gabriela which is very, very frustrating, as they were some cool images, so need to hone that aspect that I have neglected this year, as I've really not trusted certain aspects of AF.

Sounds familiar, the 'frustrating' bit. I feel for you. But I am sure you'll sort it out, you always do

Not quite the same situation, but do you remember how bitterly I complained about year ago about AF on one of my bodies, after returning from a camping trip? It was my fault in the end, did not go through the camera settings properly after service and calibration. A painful lesson

And just had another look at your Bear - what massive paw ! Almost as big as his head, wow...And it's only a cub

I do, and how many times did I say - 'Get your kit into Nikon'

No, it's all very simple Gabriela, I just need to trust some options and walk a few things by one of the Geeks and just try it, nothing to loose apart from some space on a card, easy.

I think Bears grow into their paws.

Polar bear! Nice view of this youngster. Like the ice he is walking across. The raised paw is nice. Framing looks spot on.

A fantastic capture of this youngster Steve. Great 'everything' about it. The colours, the pose, that paw and the techs, all good. Love it.

Hi Steve ... IQ as expected . Top Notch .
I do like the overall design and the look of the bear with the lifted paw is making the difference !!! Well timed .
Only things i might do , is lowering the visibility of the darker spots behind the bear to left and right ( not removing ) .

A PB image is mostly great to look at .... and this one is no exception .

This is a very fine capture Steve. I particularly liked that raised paw and its size. Wonderful IQ as expected and framing works quite well .

The finer details in your images are always a delight to the viewer, how good they must be appearing in print I wonder ?

    TFS !

In print, certainly different to a point Haseeb, as the 'medium' is different. If I do prints, or things co to print then I need to produce a totally different file based on ICC print profiles, as what you see on screen may not appear when printed.

Yes, that's the case with so many of my prints. I feel pretty lost in printing department. Recently got a big print from Dubai with the help of a friend , result was pretty good but the cost was high as well.

Good to hear, it's simple but complicated in the early days, all my stuff is ripped through LR. BTW just a quick thought as I was packing up my gear, check all your lens that have IS settings ie 500, or 200-400 etc and it's set to position 1, not 2 or 3.
