    Default Pintail/Mallard Hybrid

    Attached Images Attached Images

Taken today at a pond in Portland, I wish I had seen him flying in and
it began to rain and I left.
Not extremely rare, I knew what it was in my viewfinder, I thought
it was a Pintail, which would have been unusual at this pond, so
this one was really cool to see. My first...
It was much prettier in the sun when I first saw it, but the light went flat quick
with cloud cover by the time I was in a position to shoot.

Cool hybrid! I'm OK with the light, and you have enough colours to make it appealing I could see a version with the duck a bit lower in the frame. I love the fine detail on the flanks.

Cool looking bird. Great pose on the bird. Detail looks good but the bird looks quite washed out to me. I would try to add some more depth to it. I like the bow wave. TFS

Great capture, of a hybrid I didn't know about and have never seen. Exposure looks good to me; the only part that feels a bit washed out to me is the head, but maybe that's how they look. I'd be tempted to darken the pupil, and take a sliver off the bottom of the frame. Cool looking bird.

Very cool hybrid. I agree that the image needs a shot of contrast. Colors on the head look great and sharpness is good too. Great work, Dan!

What a neat looking duck. Nice you have some frames of him. I could see some taken off the bottom.

nice low angle frame Dan but this one isn't as strong as your other shots, the head doesn't have much details and the lack of light didn't bring out the iridescent colors.

Now looking at it from my other monitor, and the head does look washed out - you could deepen the blacks in that area.

Wicked bird and the image looks fine to me. Perhaps there is a bit of a yellowish cast ...
