Default Common Moorhen in an Uncommon Pose

Captured a few days ago at Green Cay Wetland, Delray Beach, FL...

Seeing this Moorhen up in a bush caught my eye; at first glance I thought perhaps it was one of the many Purple Gallinules there, but no... Just a Moorhen perched up off the ground, which is rather uncommon for them. It was a hazy morning (the sunrise reminded me of a moonrise) and so the light was almost magical.

    Canon EOS-40D @ ISO 400, 1/60 sec, Canon 100-400 zoom @ 400mm, f/5.6.

I worked on this image just a bit, cropping some off the right and bottom to de-center the bird, and to lessen the distraction of the OOF branch to the lower-right. I noise-reduced the background, cloned out a small stick above the bird's back, and finally did some local contrast enhancement to enhance the texture in the bird's feathers and give the image a more 3D look.

Your comments and critique appreciated. :)

I like it, I think the plant on the left side of the BG distracts a little, but still a nice shot with a lot of textures and colors. Congratulations!

I totally agree with the above comment, but it is still a great shot.
