Hi folks ... another cat species from Etosha in 2019 .
A large pride of 13 lions were hanging out for 2 days, around a waterhole close to Okaukuejo .... as ever loads of cars and people . The area was quite open with only shrub and a few small trees ... still they found spots to hide . It was just the concrete tube under the road , where most of the lions were resting in the heat of the day . From time to time some of them came out to make business ... LOL. This female was in heat and he was full of testorone .
Not the best shooting options .... as the spot was roughly 2 meters below the road . Most images were taken when shooting down . And it was the main road between the camps , so you can imagine what kind of busy traffic was there on the "Etosha Highway " .
I do like this one ... as he is looking behind her with a question mark in his face ... LOL !!!

Hi Andreas, like the title and the content with the female walking away and the male looking on....
Light seems harsh and angle a bit steep but made a good deal out of it. Colours look good and the composition is fine.
And that emphasis the frame, as the female is not looking pleased at all, while the male looks hopeful. Nice moment and your field work has resulted in nice handling of the harsh light.
Agree on the angle, not ideal and also that shadow of the female being not complete is catching my eye , not a major issue though .
Not very good settings but still makes for some viewing.
Thanks so much folks for your kind comments , much appreciated .
Well i know not an " awesome" image , as without my title and my description nobody would have known about the missed action !! I still like it though .... for sure with the story behind in my head .
This reminds me of my Kalahari lions... So I like it, harsh light and all. It appeals to my memories and brings out certain emotions. It's like Kij-Kij, Andreas. Amazes me how previous experiences can influence what we think, and who we are As soon as I opened the thumbnail I thought to myself '...would love to have been there and captured this, I can almost feel the heat and see the haze, but it's magic'
