    Default Volcano Humminbird

While waiting for the resplendant quetzals to make an appearance, I saw several other birds.
This sweet little volcano hummingbird landed on this bromeliad.
This will not appeal to a lot of you but it is fun to put "different" stuff on the board.
The rain had stopped but still dark and cloudy.

Processed in LR CC and PS CC. Nothing added or cloned. Shot as vertical. Crop to 60%FF

Beautiful image, Gail! I love the perch. Background's very nice as well. I like the bird's size in the frame - I think it's anchored well by the plant. Personally, I find that in habitat shots, it's important to highlight the subject as they tend to get lost easily. I darkened the background and parts of the perch while dodging the bird to make it pop out a little more. I'm working on a laptop, so if my repost is too dark, maybe you go a bit lighter.

Nice Habitat scene, I think the bird has to be a bit larger for this to even be a "small bird in the frame" photo,
This is more of a Flora photo and as such I think the foliage needs to be sharper throughout the entire frame.

Nice of this hummer to perch right on that flower for you. Never heard of a volcano hummer. Pretty neat little bird.

Call it what you will, Flora or Fauna, I love it. It shows just how tiny these hummers are. Beautiful flora. Aditya's RP is a good suggestion.

I like it Gail! It's different and highlights how small this bird is. BG is nice and so is the flower. The perch is good, but I don't love the hanging bark, but that's pretty minor. TFS

Its a lovely looking image Gail...Beautiful colours and detail throughout, but for me, the bird is too small in frame looking at it on here. But, I think if this was printed large, it would look real good.
