Beautiful bird and perch, a very well conceived shot. IQ and details look good considering the higher ISO. I could see a crop with a bit more room above and below the bird. Great view of that spotted tail regardless.

Really cute little bird, I like it , you have good details in the plumage in all tones. The perch and background show the bird to good effect.
We don't have these woodies over here, I suppose the closest thing would be the lesser spotted woodpecker which is becoming increasingly uncommon.

I like the bird and the IQ is not bad... Crop is awkward to me., Bird is too far to the right.

Hi John, are you using a tripod or HH?
Shot in the Winter months you BKG/WB is going probably to be cooler and flatter looking and if you want it to look more 'natural', the Contrast will be even lower. I don't mind the pano, but you could also try with a bit more top & bottom. As this is a set up I would wet the lichen. Details don't look too bad but I think you can get more detail and keeping the whites lower in intensity I bet you will have more details there too. You call John, but tweaking the WB colours appear better IMHO, especially in the lichen and more detail is there.
