    Default Tiger yet again

    Hi Folks,
Hope my tiger is not getting too repetitive. I will try and post something else next post. Here is another image from Bandhavgarh. Andreas, Steve and Gabriela I do not mind the detailed critiques for both you experts and Jon, Haseeb and John have been very helpful in analysing and giving feedback. In fact it is a learning curve which I am yet to master.

I like this one very much, the head is evenly lit providing optimal detail opportunity , you have done well with the ISO - very high for me now .. but not for you! The noise in the background is not really objectionable but it is quite apparent, I think I would reduce it a little more but not totally eliminate it.
The blacks look dense but most have some detail, if you haven't tried it maybe a little clarity on the yes may enhance?

Nice pose and looks very nice for that high ISO. Nice to have the grasses not over the face of the tiger.

Hi Doc -- This has come out nicely. I liked the slightly open mouth and the framing.

To me the blacks appear a bit strong and hence those finer details are lacking, nice to see you push the iso and getting the desired ss, as movement in vehicle was pretty strong. I would also remove that flower popping behind tigers ear, a bit distracting it is.

    Nice one, TFS !

Hi Sanjeev, this is far better compared to the previous posting and shows you can get the image, just need to hone those settings and tweak the ongoing PP learning Curve.

I like the framing (enough room for the subject to breathe), pose of thee subject and you are almost at eye level which is nice. The 100-400 delivers, but I feel you have missed a trick in not sending ALL of your kit to Canon when you had the opportunity for calibration. I know I bang on but I know the 5 will be out and the MKII could be tweaked, then any errors are due to the operator.

As pointed out Sanjeev, the blacks are too strong, likewise Contrast. Tweaked the Blacks, added a minus Dehaze, and added more Tint, ran a hint of NR in LR overall colour can still be tweaked it's not quite there, but... Sharpening was 'as is'.

The blacks look dense but most have some detail, if you haven't tried it maybe a little clarity on the yes may enhance?
Jon, by adding some Clarity what will it actually do, I'm curious if I'm missing something here on applying it to the image.

Steve there is a typo a little clarity on the "yes" should have been eyes!
My mistake, and yes I agree the clarity in the fur would darken the darker tones, and thereby obscure detail.
Your repost looks very good indeed.

That's great Jon, thanks for the clarification, I was getting concerned you may have been following the rabbit hole on Blacks, Contrast, Levels and then Clarity.

Hi Sanjeev ... yet another nice portrait of the tiger .
Nice framing and the head angle is very very good IMHO with the free view to that gorgeous eye !!! Like the open jaw , showing those massive teeth .
I do like the edits Steve made in general ... maybe a tiny bit thin in parts now . A bit less of negative dehaze .... maybe ?
For me original colors are not too bad actually , sometimes a matter of taste . Maybe if i take it into PS and take some reading .... i might also think a little different .

    Nevertheless ... nice one !!!

    TFS Andreas
