    Default Red Junglefowl (Thailand)

This is NOT a rooster, it is a Red Junglefowl, the wild bird from which the domestic was derived.

Not much I could do about the uneven BG from the hide, but I was stoked to get whiff of sunlight
on him. It wasn't much, as indicated by the shutter and ISO...

He was very skittish, so I was stoked to walk away with a decent headshot. This is probably 20% of
the frame, so IQ held well against the crop.

Looking good....I love the colours and detail on the feathers. Lovely detail on the eye, with a nice pose and HA. I may try reducing the highlights a wee bit.

Very cool. BG highlights the bird well and isn't IMO distracting. IQ looks great especially for the crop, I wouldn't have guessed. I agree about bringing the HLs down a little. A 2x TC may have been handy here but then a slower shutter speed, etc, so maybe not. I love the raised crest. TFS

Dorian great shot love the details and bright colors I think the lighting along with the background compliments this well. May be a little hot but doesn't really bother me. TFS

Well just got done reading about chickens and their origins, interesting stuff. Nice head shot here. Light looks nice and the image held up great for the very large crop.

The IQ has help up really well for such a large crop. The light is gorgeous and I like the background. I agree with toning down the highlights, but this is a very good portrait of an oft-ignored bird.

I love the IQ here Dorian!
The bird simply jumps off the screen with fabulous details.
Love the colors and the way you cropped the image showing all of the long neck feathers.
    A real beauty,
    Gail

Man-o-man the detail held up! Beautiful roost...umm, I mean junglefowl! My favorite part is the glowing neck feathers. The bill a tad hot places, but tough to get that in check with any additional processing. Super!
