Red Fox on tree

Hi folks ... the next Fox
Same location as previous posting but shot taken on another day and the fox is also another one .
This time in a small forest .... so light was quite low but even , due to overcast sky.

EF 200 - 400 IS L at 232 mm

F 5 ; Iso 5000 ; 1/1600 sec ; man exp and auto iso

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; slightly cropped

Neat to see the fox on a log. Like the open mouth as well. Pretty good background as well. Detail looks quite nice.

Hi Andreas, this is very nice. I like the pose on the tree, the open mouth and head turn. Good clean BG. Great colours. Techs look good, maybe a bit more DOF. But overall lovely.

This is another belter , what a frame. I loved the shallow dof because of which that face is standing out against its body and the bkg. Lovely colours and excellent details .

Hi Andreas, for me I would like to have been a fraction higher, partly to reduce the tree truck and have all feet in, albeit OOF. As presented I do feel the trunk is a little too dominating. F/5 I think was just on the cusp, why did you go for such a shallow DoF, f/5.6 min, but... Good sharpness and detail and I like the HA/open jaw.

Agree the DOF could be slightly more ... but only a bit . Settings not changed because the fox came from darker area and entered the tree .... then i forgot to change the aperture . just wanted to get the fox on that tree ... without further thinking , sorry my fault. The angle was the best i could get .... i was already on my toes !!!! Just joking .... not the toes just standing and could not get any higher .
