Hi all ... keep on going with throwing different stuff into the mix .

Alpine Marmot image taken in Austria in september 2017 at a place called Filzmoos , folks who do not remember these marmots are very much used to humans . So no issue to get portraits .... they even come sometimes too close and try to find food in your bags or clothes , can be annoying at times . Other thing are the human visitors .... annoying too , as 99% of them are no serious photogs , just people who want to feed them for a cute pic with them and a marmot . When those humans are gone .... the marmots show their normal behaviour .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod

F 9 ; Iso 2500 ; 1/250 sec ( to catch the rain streaks that are barely visible ) ; man exp and auto iso

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; slight crop for comp

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting .

    Cheers Andreas

Another good portrait, the DoF swallowed up the streaks and you need a much slow SS.

the file ... forgot to upload ... LOL.
    Sorted.

It would ..... in pouring rain , not with this little amount , but for sure a slower SS i.e. 1/30 or 60 would work better . But still need more DOF

Looks like the groundhogs aka woodchucks i see over here. Nice detail. Like the framing and the background. Like your comment about the annoying humans.

Love the details and the shooting angle on this one - the BG colours are also lovely. If possible, I think moving him slightly left in the frame would help by taking him off centre and possibly highlighting the rain streaks a bit more.

Lovely colours and details in the coat, I know this is not a bison but here I see some expression in the dark fur - if you get my drift.

This is a solid portrait in rain Andreas. Great BG and colours. Love the alert pose too.

What a handsome looking Marmot ! Nice image Andreas.

Lovely fine details and nicely framed as well. Rain streaks adds to the scene .

    Nice one, TFS !
