    Default Black-crowned Night-Heron in Flight

    Taken yesterday evening using newly arrived Mongoose M3.5a (Thanks to Artie for his sugesstion). Location: Sunnyvale Baylands.

    Canon 40D + Sigma 50-500 F4-6.5 APO DG HSM on Mongoose M3.5a
    ISO 400, 1/320 sec, 417mm at f11, exp comp. -1.33.

    Great light! Water looks nice too. You got the bird in the center of the frame, but it's not quite as sharp as I'd like to see. You need a faster shutter speed for an image like this. In this case I would have used ISO 800 and an aperture of more like f/8 to get a faster shutter speed. Flying towards you would have been a plus. Thanks for posting!

    The light and water patterns are great. I agree with Doug regarding shutter speed and the bird flying away from you. Keep them coming!
