Default Kamtchatka Brown Bear waiting for salmon

Hi folks another frame from Kamtchatka , this time from Kambalnaya River .
Just right behind the huts where we stayed for three nights . Last morning .... and thick thick fog was present !!! Not a photogs dream .... most of the times IMHO !!!
Tried to make something out of it .... BTW it was dangerous too , as bears can appear from anywhere at that spot under the conditions . But all went smooth with no hazzles .

For comparison i posted the original shot to see how low the fog and contrast was . Do no want to enhance more contrast or color to keep the foggy feeling .
You folks should not wonder about the techs i used .... you should know why !!!

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 200 - 400 IS L at 200 mm
    Tripod

    F 16 ; Iso 100 ; 1/15 sec ; man exp and auto iso

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; slight crop from bottom and RHS .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Digging this one. Nice framing with the bear up high and that flowing water. Makes a very pleasing image. I don't mind the fog. Nice one.

Hi Andreas, I like the setting and framing very much, but taking the OP I personally might go a tad warmer and have more depth of detail, but all personal choice.

Hi Andreas -- I loved this one ! Of all your ( Bear ) postings recently, I liked this one the best , purely for artistic perspective and the dreamy feel to it. Great field work and the use of slow shutter speed simply makes this image.

    Super post ! TFS !

    Hello Andreas,

Been looking at this post for a while...I certainly understand your thinking behind the image and also appreciate your PP skills. But I prefer Steve's RP which has more detail and definition overall (and on the bear especially) as well as a tad of warmth

Hope you have a great New Year Boetie, and that you keep delighting us with your lovely photographs in 2020!
PS. Just know that you are very special to us here in the Wildlife Forum, and always missed when you go offline (from time to time)

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Andreas, I like this shot a lot. Great mood to it with the pensive bear waiting and the soft water flow due to the slow SS. Nice dreamy feel and good work over all.

Andreas I find these foggy misty images a real pain in the butt! This is why I haven't posted much recently - many of mine have been taken in misty conditions and I can't decide how much mist to remove and how much to leave in and keep as natural as it was. Regarding the images I feel yours is very pleasing but just a little on the cool side, Steve's looks perhaps a little warm, it's a cop out but I think I would have gone somewhere piggy in the middle!
