    Hi all ...
Merry Christmas to all of you folks .
Have not seen an image of this seal species for ages .... .... posted here on BPN . So thought just dive deep into the hard drive , to get one . Image was taken in 2012 during a trip to Falklands and Soth Georgia Island .
Might have some technical issues ... LOL .... times changed since then . Today i would have chosen a lower shooting angle ....
Hope you still like to watch it .

    Canon EOS 1D III
    EF 70 -200 IS L
    HH

    F 8 ; Iso 800 ; 1/500 sec . man exp and auto iso .

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2020 ; slightly cropped and some gardening in the sand .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous image .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, this is a pleasing image, with good pose, slightly raised left flipper and back drop of mountains. All comes together nicely. Colours look good and comp is nice. Agree with the lower shooting angle but no deal breaker. Nice one.

Hi Andreas, I like the shooting angle, why would you go lower? The backdrop adds context to the location and the penguins are a cool addition. The image works for me as presented.

Looks pretty nice. Like the pose on the seal and the setting in the background. The pengiuns are nice as well. An oldie but a goodie for sure.

Still great to see Andreas, even it there would be a tech improvement with todays gear. If there was some extra interest in the mountains at the top of the frame, then yes shooting from a lower POV may have helped the overall frame, but it doesn't make too much difference for me regarding the primary subject

    Hallo Andreas!

Wish I took such nice images in 2012 Love the pose from the subject and POV is great, stunning scenery!

Well exposed and colours look good, Boetie. Sharp where it matters and nice detail - what's not to like about this?

I am afraid to go back to my folders from 2012...Had some awesome sightings that year but had a major issue: DoF

Thank you so much for sharing, really appreciate you going down the memory lane I might go as far as 2104... and when I do, I'll send you an email

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks so much folks for your comments , much appreciated .

My thinking for a lower shooting would have been better , was ..... to make the seal even look bigger . And still think it !!!

Superb image Andreas -- Nothing I would change here . Nice framing and the penguins in the bkg adds to the scene.

    Very nicely done.
