Here's another from my recent session with this bird, this time showing the black front and out away from the shoreline.

Hi Colin: Very nice! Like the pose, clarity and feather detail. Always a little tricky to get close to these guys, but you've got the zoom to do so. Too hot here in Brissy to go out at the moment (plus I pulled my calf muscle playing squash last week!) Have a great Christmas Colin.

Thanks Paul, and best wishes to you and family. Sorry to hear about your injury. I was sitting among some weeds around 5 meters from this bird.

Nice view of this dotterel. That red eye ring is great. Framing looks right on.

I like this one way better than the previous image.
Lovely light, good IQ, exposure and pose,

Nice image, Colin. Nice color and detail on the bird, good pure background. I would have composed so the bird was smaller in the frame, personal taste. Thank you for sharing.

I'm with Joe wishing for the subject a bit smaller in the frame. Great colours, good body and head angles. It must have been refreshing sitting in the water with your really hot weather of late.
