    Captured these Sandhill Cranes as they were lifting off early morning in the Bosque del Apache last month. C&C welcome.


    D500, Sigma 150-600mm C @ 370mm, 1/1000s, f 14, ISO 1600, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Love the mist and light. Only wish they were not flying slightly away from you. The two in the upper right corner are a cool touch. TFS

    Very nice, almost sepia-like tones. The swimming ducks in foreground and background add depth.

    I think a couple of PP changes could really make this image pop.
    I would try to reduce the brightness of the blown out area of water on the right. I think the easiest way would be to paint the area in the same yellow as the water on the LHS. Try an opacity of 65%.
    I think the image needs to be rotated CW.
    I would also add some blacks via contrast or selective coloring or levels and setting the black point.

    Really like the mood these frames have. Nice color and placement of the birds. Yes to toning down the water.

    Thanks Gail. Thanks for your suggestions, a couple of which I looked at in my PP and one last try again, which I just gave another shot was adding some blacks. The smallest amount takes too much of the quality of the mist away.
