Well, since this is the "Eager to Learn" forum, so I think I can post this here. A hummingbird with a different wing position, I guess.

    S5, Nikkor 105mm Macro f2.8 @ f3, ISO 800, 1/8000 sec; aperture priority; no flash; hand-held; cropped.

    Fire away!!

I love the detail, the colours, the background, the exposure and the wing shapes but for me not being able to see the eye is a big no no.

Love the BG. Like the different take on wing position. Too bad about the eye, because IMO you need to be able to see the eye. Thanks for posting!

Hi Desmond, I like the natural light, non-flash look of the image, and the BG. Did you get any images that would be considered more traditional using the same techs?

Not sure what you mean by more traditional. Are you referring to the pose of the hummingbird?

I've posted a couple of hummingbird shots before. I still have some that I could post (I love "Eager to Learn" :D:D ).

    Here's one:

    Here's another one:

By the way, I'm not the only one who has posted no-flash hummingbird shots in BPN. I think one is on the main Avian board posted lately. And Gail also posted her natural light hummer on this board before.

Great capture Desmond. Very sharp and I like the background. Agree with the eye comments from prior comments.
    Regards,
