    EOS R EF400DO I 2xtc II f8 1/800 ISO 500

I think this was my second outing with the "R". I was trying 2xtc with 400DO because now I could (could have even done f11 glass). Any way, I caught the motion of this beauty running up a dead trunk in the corner of my eye, swung and mashed the shutter while trying to keep on the bird. This is about 50% of the full frame and I just loved the pose.

I like your title! Nice background, and cool sighting. A better head angle, and a bit more contrast would make this better. Green Herons are always such fun character!

I like the walking pose and don'r mind the hand of man where the perch is cut, nice BG too, but I wish he had a better HA, I'd take some off the lower left corner. the image has a green color cast to it and lacks contrast as Dan mentioned.

Excellent capture, a few tweaks regarding the colour balance and contrast and this will be a really fine image, I would love to see a repost.

Hi David, a really nice image that a few tweaks will take to the top. I agree with Dan and Arash that the image is flat appearing needing more contrast. I really like the climbing post of the bird reaching the top. Thank you for sharing.

Light looks nice and the background is great. Agree with the head angle. The way the foot gribs the top of the perch is pretty neat.

I knew I'd have great separation from the BG as it was far to the subject. Still, the BG was varied and colorful and especially on the bottom competed with the subject a little. So, on the BG only, I backed off the contrast (apparently too far). So, i put back about half of my adjustment and slightly reduced greens. Thanks as always for the well appreciated suggestions. Keep them coming...

I like the pose, BG, and diagonal perch. Yes to a slight headturn. RP has a heavy purple cast. Love the raised foot. TFS

Beautiful BG. Good advice above to which I can add little. The RP is way off with a heavy purple cast.

Background is so nice. Color cast is needs to be addressed. I wish for better Head Angle.

Agree that Repost is way off.
