Red Osier Dogwood in winter at my garden pond.
I sat and waited for ducks to fly across it yesterday for a hour or so
just to get some frames like this...

The BG is divine and works perfectly for the plainer female duck.
    I like the drops.
    No nits from me.
I might sharpen the head a bit more. Perfect HA.
I remember you asking me about the success rate of my method of choosing a beautiful BG and setting and waiting for a bird to show up (my greater yellow legs image with the orange BG).
It sure works if you are willing to be patient!
    This is lovely Dan!

    Dan:

Agree with Gail. Lovely background, compliments the female woody well. Yes to a bit more sharpening on the head. Soft light helped with your dynamic range. You have an amazing spot to work with!

    Look forward to more

    Cheers

Ditto the positives above. Lovely bg and flight pose, nice light. How nice to have your own garden pond with wood ducks on it.

Nothing else to add really. Pretty appealing image. If I had a spot like that at home I would camp out every day that I am not working!!

    Thanks for the comments.
This is not in my personal garden. The city pond
that I always shoot in is what I was referring to.
It is also a public garden with a lot of ducks and the wildlife.
Anyone visiting Portland Oregon should contact me, happy to
take you there. Worth the trip. Guaranteed Birds in flight...

The background is superb. Nice pose as well. Also like the few water drops.
