I think the image is a little flat in terms of tonality, a few curves adjustments her and there would enhance considerably, I would also have a look at the colour balance from start.

Hi John .... a superb backdrop , that isolates the subject perfectly and the mushy FG adds to it . A bit 50/50 on the cut off legs ... but i bet no other option was possible .
Is the deer that `reddish `in real life ?

Nice one with the additional ...flehming working good .

    Hello John,

Superb pose from the subject and BG is awesome! Framing looks good, just maybe a bit too much at the top?

I do agree with Andreas, it would have been nice to have a bit more 'leg' visible, but such is Nature...

Not sure of the Subject's colour, it does look a bit on the red side to me too, comparing with other White-tail buck in your previous images.

Really like the expression you captured here and visible teeth, head angle is also nice - was he calling, or is this a flehmen reaction to a female nearby? Love the behaviour aspect, super timing!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    Thanks folks,

He is grunting at a female off to the right.

I like this one Jon, nicely layered from the foreground through to the subject and the beautiful BG. Nice pose as mentioned

Hi John, I quite like the shot, but would have liked a bit more room all round. As presented I feel there is too much at the foot and a little off helps both the framing and the legs. Colourwise a bit too saturated and agree with Jon that getting a better WB would place you in a better position in PP, reducing the blue also helps. Adding some Curves, not Levels will add some well needed oomph to the subject, plus adding a bit more in terms of Tonal range will add to the layering that is currently missing. Techs, looks like you were just on the limit.

    Steve
