That's the name Artie gave, in a recent blog, to the condition that Geoffrey and I experienced on three of our four days at Bosque del Apache a few weeks ago: clear morning sky and, in our case, NE breeze. Far from ideal for photographing white birds in flight. This was the scene at 6:34 am on our second (cold) morning. Conditions aside, we did have a good trip and came home with some keepers.

D500, Nikon VR 16-80 f/2.8-4.0, @ 25mm, ISO 2500, 1/500s @ f/9 manual. I avoided sharpening to minimize halos around the birds, but I do see some halos as well as compression artifacts. FF cropped to pano.
