Another Red-backed fairy-wren from my recent shoot. Can't always get the perch you want, but that's life. I'm happy with the pose and composition.

Paul:
Nice pose, head angle indeed. Soft light helps to show more detail in the black feathers. Yes to your perch comment. Better than a giant fence post!
Cheers

Good alert pose, HA, detail in the blacks; all shown nicely against lovely BG. They perch where they will.
Nice background to show off the bird. The perch doesn't bother me much. Too bad the tail wasn't raised.
Pretty little bird. Detail, colors and background all look good. Here the wire is barbed, to keep cows in. When I travel in areas of pastures I often photograph birds on wire. They choose it most times over bushes that may be nearby. So the perch doesn't bother me. Thank you for sharing, Paul.

Thank you all for the feedback...much appreciated.
Sweet bird with a cute posture. Good BG. I'm OK with the perch too, I just wish it would have been old and rusty for extra interest. You can often setup perches and use audio to get them on (judiciously done of course), but I know that's not for everyone...
Hi Daniel. Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I often use an app on my phone to "call" the birds...but the wrens are very prevalent at this particular location. Many times they land on a post as well...I have lots of such photos. I've never tried a perch setup yet. Cheers.
