There was an unusually large group of Cockatoos at this location. Here is one landing near me.

Sweet bird, must have been a noisy encounter. I think a floor level shoot might have given a better POV.

Love the pose. The backlighting makes the wings stand out nicely.

    Thanks Tim/John..comments appreciated.
Tim: Yes, a lower POV would be better, but it wasn't possible to get lower as there is a fence in between me and the bird, and anticipating the landing wasn't an option due to the speed the birds were approaching.

Also: and I'm glad it was not picked up..I clipped his right wing at the top, and the bird was too far to the right edge of the frame. In Photoshop I moved the bird down and to the left...added canvas, and repaired the wing by adding more at the tip. Cheers.

Hi Paul, I only see these birds in exhibits or cages, so a pleasure to see a wild one. It must be lovely with all the colorful birds you have in AU. Nice landing position, whites look good as does the detail. If the sun had been behind you it would have opened the shadows, I might try opening the shadows a bit and see how it looks. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Joseph. Thank you fro the kind words. I'll have a go at the shadows. You have your fair share of great looking birds in Florida that I'd love to see too.

A pretty good landing shot with the above critiques noted. You did well on the PP give what you had to work with.
