    Default An early bath...

Taken from the same sighting as the single walrus image posted, these four guys managed to spook themselves and so when one goes, they all go. They were quite content with our presence and there was enough comfort zone, but Walruses are easily startled and often by the most simple of things, but unlike females they are very tolerable of humans getting close providing they know you are there and so the key is to make noises, talk normally and occasionally stop when they check you out.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Their colour works well with the cold blues, they don't seem to have much brain room and their eyes are almost popping out very interesting things something I won't see in the flesh I reckon.

A very good evening to you Steve,
This is simply stunning. What gorgeous light! Superb capture, very nice timing too

Love the action and water splash, overall image is very well exposed with beautiful colours, great detail on the subjects. Super techs, nice thinking on DoF:)

In terms of composition, this is a well balanced frame where the subjects command the viewer's attention in equal measure. How did you get them to cooperate ?

I so enjoyed viewing, a thoughtfully processed and presented frame with so much to look at. BG is awesome too.

Beautiful work Steve, thank you so much for sharing with us!

    Warmest regards,

Thanks folks, on reflection a tad tight, but shooting from a zodiac is not always the best of locations.

I won't see in the flesh I reckon.
Ooh I'm sure that is not the case Tim, the world has a huge amount to offer and you are still young enough.

Hi Steve — What a frame, and loved the light and the low pov. F 16 is a nice choice here , getting the subjects and the scene nice and sharp. Looks like the filters has not affected the details and sharpness for that matter. Nice field work and PP work as always.

    A nice shot indeed .

We often read and hear people say photography is all about light, well this image is that comment!
I cannot say more Steve because I am not at my PC and looking on an uncalibrated screen, I cannot wait to get my PC back and have another look, but from what I see here the image looks outstandingly good.

Looks great. Nice poses from all the walruses. The setting is killer as well. Detail is superb.
