Short-billed Dowitcher
Another holdover shot from the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival in Harlingen earlier this month.
Gently striped background is a bit different from my usual smoothed oblivion, so I'm curious what folks thing.
Pretty stoked with the feather an leg detail regardless! Not sure I have a crisper frame in my collection....
Canon 600mm f/4 IS II + 1.4x III on EOS 1DX2
1/3200 at f/7.1, ISO 1000.
Lightly processed in LR CC. Nothing added or cloned (beyond dust spots)
Striped BG works for me! Pose is great with the raised foot (with lots of detail), and I love the water drop. Comp works well. Maybe just a wave or optical illusion, but does the frame need a very slight CCW rotation? Overall an awesome shot, TFS
I like a varied background. With this one you could say the bird looks a little flat due to the light hitting straight on.
Pretty shot though.
Great low POV of this beauty, Dorian. Striped background brings a nice depth to the image. Overall fine detail.

A stunner Dorain, perfect low POV, my favourite foot position and the water drop on the bill adds a nice touch.
I like the striped BG, but I would just burn in the left had side a touch as it appears a bit brighter there- very minor point!

Beautiful Capture. I like the water droplet and the raised foot.

Nice low angle and pose. Raised foot is nice. Like the water drop on the bill. The background looks fine to me.
