    One of the more difficult things to do is get a good preening pose.
    I like the complimentary colors of rock and bird but the lack of any eye showing means I would bin such a shot.
    Still interesting to look at. I also like the environment and the tufts of eider feathers on the breast.

    I'm with Colin about the lack of eye contact. As a stickler for scaly feet, the crisp view you offer is really sweet though!

    I like the setting with the splash, pose, and view of the feet. I don't necessarily mind the lack of eye contact, but the bird is a bit overpowered then by the splash itself. If you have a similar one with eye contact that would be a winner. TFS
