    Default Pied-billed Grebe

Taken last Sunday at Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge. It might be hard to tell, but it was a clear calm morning. I was more interested in ducks but a few grebes foraged by.
Straight size reduction, no sharpening applied. Full frame plus, added canvas above, below and to the right.

Yep looks good to me, fine light and calm waters, a little more room perhaps ( a bit rich coming from me who has "needs more space" with every posted image :-)).

More room all round would be nice. Too tight for me.

Good to see that you were able to get close to the bird.

Reflection is nice. Bird is angled towards you which is also nice. Details look good.

sweet shot Jack love the light details and the CALM water, agree a bit tight. A bit lower angle would have taken this a nudge up

Hey Jack, lovely image, love the blue background, good feather detail. As others have mentioned a little tight for my bias. These are the first waterfowl migrants to arrive in Florida. Thank you for sharing.

Awesome details! Good reflection too. Exposure spot-on. Yes to being too tight in the frame (I do note you already added canvas), and the image needs some CCW rotation as the grebe appears to be swimming slightly downhill.

Thanks for the critiques/commentary. Added more canvas and rotated CCW a little as I believe Daniel was correct. I couldn't get much lower as there was about a 3ft ledge/drop off at the water line at the the best vantage point.
I tip my cap to all you guys/gals that lay on the ground. I sit on a cushion on the ground at times or a collapsible stool, but I'm just getting a little to old to lay on the ground for extended periods.

Nice detail on this one. The reflection is great. Nice and sharp as well.
