    Default Tricolored Heron

Another one from the Texas Coast last week. Went with 1.6 crop (versus standard 1.5) to achieve a slightly more elongated frame.

    Canon 600mm f/4 IS II + 1.4x III on EOS 1DX2
    1/2500 at f/5.6, ISO 640, manual, handheld
Processed in Lightroom with standard sliders (so no trickery)

The colours are beautiful throughout the image. Nice POV as usual. The raised leg is cool. Lovely detail...the crop works well.

Not sure of your math but the image is sublime -- the light and the raised foot and the smooth BKGR.

Very nice. Low angle, light and raised foot are all spot on. The crop works for me.

I like the framing of the bird and raised foot.

    Excellent Image.

Beautiful image, Dorian. I like everything about the image. The raised foot is a bonus. Thank you for sharing,
