I was photographing the Oystercatchers at Nickerson Beach along with the gulls clamming..............they would pick up the clams.......fly up.........and drop them on the sand to crack them open! Even though this guy had cracked it open and was eating...........the other gulls try to come in and bully a meal! Love this type of action!
Canon Mark3 with the Sigma 300-800 @ 800mm at f7.1 for 1/3200 sec and ISO 800 all mounted on a tripod with a Wimberly head. The shot B4 he is moving........so I have the leg action........but the wing is tucked in even further. Loved the clam on edge in this one!
Slight crop off bottom.

I agree; the clam on edge adds a lot to this photo Roman! Like everything about the photo, but might boost saturation just a touch, and might add a little canvas up top.
Agree on the standing clam. Love that the head is turned back into the soft light. Is the Mark # a new camera that I do not know about??? I would take an inch off the bottom and add an inch to the top.

Every details makes this shot more and more interesting, the pose, the clam, the action, etc, although I agree about a lower angle, I think it looks just fine as is. Congratulations!
Excellent details Roman. Liked the raised wing position. The shell on the right indeed adds to the image. Composition-wise I would agree with Arhtur + I might add some more space in front the bird & removing some from behind.
Personal taste :)
