Menacing is my first thought Colin. Well done looks great. I do agree wonderful detail on the blue patch.If anything maybe under the bill would clone to soften the edge of flower or weed and the few diagonal lines. TFS
This is very clever Colin.The variation in the blue caused by where the sun is makes it fascinating . I see these birds often and there's probably another shot with the light right behind you still to come ,and at the right time of day at about iso 640 0r even less. With that beautiful background as well.
The facial skin and BG are perfect together! I suspect this is a fairly heavy crop, but the detail held up really well! Super intense feel to this frame.
Thanks for commenting. I forgot to note that the reason the blue patch is so wrinkled is because it can be inflated in great excitement/alarm so the face is almost entirely psychedelic blues. Dorian, not so much of a crop maybe 30%.
