    Hello John,

I like the pose from this cow elk looking back and its positioning within the frame, good composition. Always nice to see a bit of the environment too

Judging by your techs I guess the light was quite sparse and the subject's face seems a tad underexposed. Quite a few specular lights but I don't find them too bothersome, save for the blue line behind the elk (close to the water's edge) and small orange blob to the right of the subject.

BG is really nice, lovely colours. Beautiful scene overall, the presence of water and vegetation add up to a tranquil feel, so a very enjoyable image:)

Would love to see a Mom Elk with young, if you have

    Kind regards,

Hi John if this is from the same series as the Stag posting, then I prefer the previous.

Excellent POV and I like the frame with the female looking back, but the head appears a little soft, when you look at the back which has, good balanced detail/clarity, where was the FP, maybe a little more sharpening? NR is better, but perhaps a tad less? I like the light and warm colours, but some of the blue strips in the water and brown blob need to go, as there are distracting. Your call on the blue here.

John, I would strongly suggest you look at Curve adjustments and what they can do for you. It is a powerful tool and most of what PS does is underpinned by Curves, as you image would really benefit.

Don't forget to update both versions, LR & PS, PSCC is now PS2020.

    Steve

Hope the attached helps, all minor tweaks.
