    This is one from my recent trip to Portugal, a first for me...I came across a small lake whilst walking around the Ria Formosa, a couple of these little birds were jumping about deep in amongst the long reeds. They were proving difficult to photograph. I waited until this one picked a solitary reed to perch on and managed a few shots. Handheld.

    Neat looking bird. Like the pose and the perch. The light blue background shows the bird off well.

    Good contrasting colors. A little high in the frame for my taste, no biggie though. There are some bits sticking out around the bird that could be tidied. Great to get a good shot of a bird that's new to you.
