    Default Cheetah on hunt

Sorry Gabriela, posted this a bit late as per our discussion and in some way for comparison. It was too late by the time I had finished up dealing with some Homework for someone and this morning has been manic - a change for me.

I posted an frame a while back, this is one of two cheetahs on a hunt in Tswalu. Obviously they didn't wash too well that morning, as there are some blood remnants still attached to the fur of the upper jaw. On reflection f/7.1 just for a tad more DoF as the fur on the far end of the head is just dropping off. As we shadowed them I had to be mindful of the surrounding vegetation, plus the dunes in this area can only be traversed on track, no going off. Shot from the passenger seat so no chance of going lower.

Thanks to those who viewed or commented on the previous posting.

Interesting to see two images so similar but so different, this one I like that you can see more eye, but I feel lacks the taught neck, mouth open and feeling of intent of
    Gabriela's.
    Wish it were mine though.

A very good evening to you Steve,

Love your cheetah - such beautiful light, superb framing, those amber eyes and textures in the coat are to die for!

POV is great, no need to go lower IMO. Perfect HA. The BG I am quite jealous of, I think my frame is a tad 'sterile' so I prefer yours with a bit of vegetation, more context.

Amazing how different out cheetahs are - just look at the profile, the shape of the nose, muzzle, size of the chin. Yours has a thicker neck, probably older, mine is a youngster:)

So glad you posted, Steve. Been looking at both frames for quite a while now, must say your processing is much better and there's finer detail. This is something I have always wanted to achieve with my images

Really enjoyed our 'exercise' and looking forward to more - what's next?

PS I cannot remember the Blend mode I used, it was past midnight, LOL

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Looks alot like Gabriela's image. The light is different and the mouth is not open. Detail looks great here. Nice background as well.
