    Taken this morning. The bird landed with its back to me. As soon as it presented a profile pose I fired of a couple frames. It bolted immediately. Maybe a little hard to tell on compressed image but not quite as sharp as the last post.
    I guess I'll give it another try. I'd like to get an image with a fish so I will try to more patient next time. Probably should have dropped the camera level to lower the ware line.

    Amazing shot Jack! Love the raised crest. Comp is great too.
    I agree with your self-critique re the BG. I see a slight blue cast that needs to be removed and I'd also increase the WB a touch. Tiny dust speck on the LHS that needs to be cloned out.

    I'd die for a image like this, my nemesis bird. Sharp, nice color, just about perfect background. Thank you for sharing.

    I'm with Joseph. I would die for a kingfisher image like this. They are so skittish, I don't think I have a single keeper. Well done.
