    Default Willet in golden light.....

From out back of the apartment on SF Bay earlier this week.

Canon 600mm f/4 IS II on EOS 1DX2
    1/3200 at f/4, ISO 800, handheld

***I must have bumped my TV control dial on the back of the camera as this frame was overexposed by a full stop.
I had to remove a lot of light in post, but I think the brightest bits still look OK. Feedback welcomed.....

Awesome view. Not sure I'd call this overexposed as I see no loss of detail in the whites. Beautiful light, pose, HA, color and detail. TFS

Love this one Dorian, stunning light and a great pose. I really like the low over the water positioning of the bird as well. I can't see any blown areas

Nice pose, sharpness, and lighting. I don't see any significant blown whites either. If anything, the image looks a little dark on my monitor.

Lovely shot and quite a skill to grab a fast flyer.
You have nicely recovered the over-exposure.
Luck of the draw here, but it would have been better if the dark beak were in front of lighter waves.
Great to have the reflection as well.

Beautiful action shot! Agreed with Colin re the dark waves. I don't see any major blown highlights, but I wonder if the white portion of the wings are just a bit too grey from the PP recovery? I'd also decrease the yellows on the bird using the HSL sliders.

Hi Dorian, great timing to capture the wing position. On my display the image appears a tad dark and I also see the yellow on the bird that Aditya mentions. Lovely image, thank you for sharing.

Sweet light here for sure. The pose is nice. Also like how the bird is just above the water. Whites look fine to me.

The water is excellent and the flight pose very nice.
Your self critique is good, bird is yellow and dark.....still a fine photo most
    people would be thrilled with.

These drab birds turn into real beauties when they take to the wing, especially in such gorgeous light. Your corrected exposure looks good on my screen. For me, the yellow is a function of the evening light and should not be tinkered with. Great detail and flight position.

cool shot, agree the bird is too yellow and a bit dark as a result of exposure recovery
