Whilst at the Glen last week, I knew I was going to get close to this one, as long as I remained low and still, he would come close, as he was defending his territory. I had already found 'his patch' on previous visits. I managed a few shots with the 1.4 attached and also a few with the bare lens, this being one of them.

    A very beautiful portrait.
    Great IQ and detail.
The Bg colors are perfect for this guy.

Bill: The supercilium is outstanding, wonderful color harmony, open bill, reflection on the cornea, great.

This is a gem of a portrait, William. Nice calling pose, detail, and perfect complimentary background.

It's grouse season! Great portrait, held onto the bright red comb nicely.
I'm out chasing these again this weekend, the autumn bilberries do it for me.

Wonderfully detailed portrait Will, sharpness right through the image and those reds are stunning. Not much more to add
