    Such a lovely bird, and you show the head pattern so well. I do wish the bird was awake, and I think the female isn't sharp enough to add to the frame, also without eye contact.

    Harlequins are lovely indeed. Always a DOF challenge with pairs like this. The f9 helped with the dof on the birds, but hurt the smoothness of the background a bit.

    My nemesis duck! I don't have a good image of this species.
    I like the sleeping pose of the drake- in fact the cheek spots almost look like eyes!
    I like the perch and the BG (minus the whitish area to left of drake).
    When I am faced with 2 birds that are not on the same plane I try to put my focus point on an area between the 2 birds- in this case the females' shoulder.
    Sometimes it works and sometimes not, but if you have a cooperative subject it is worth trying after you get the safety shots!
