    EOS-1D Mk III, 500mm f/4+ 1.4xII, 1/250, f/5.6, ISO 800
    About 50% of Full Frame

    Photographed this past weekend at Parker River NWR on Plum Island in MA.

    There were darkish stormy skies overhead and the bird was backlit by a bit of evening sun that was peeking out around some clouds behind the bird.

    I really like the pose, I think the image could do with more contrast, it looks lifeless to me.

    I like the light, angle, pose and details. I had a look at the histogram and it seems you could adjust the black point.

    No critics here Mike. I like the pose of the bird, the soft colors, the sweet light and the angle. Thanks for sharing this beauty:)

    Hey Mike, not that I want to overwork you or anything but a little less red might work well... Otherwise lovely. I like that it is so sharp on the head that you can see the white sky through the nares...
