David: Nice high key effect, like the transillumination of the flight feathers.

The bird is quite centered in the composition, and often there is more of a sense of action is it is framed so that the bird has room ahead, not so much behind and below. The direction of flight is often your guide on how to frame. The attached crop is just one possibility, and a clean image like this one is a great place to try different crops to see what works best for you.

    Cheers

Hi David. Very nice! I agree with Randy as regards the crop. You've done well using the 1.4xTC...I have had little success using it for BIF on my 7Dii.

Thank you for the critique. I agree with the crop suggestion. I just got a little lazy.

Always love a good high key image. Maybe cool the bird down a little with some white balance. The pose is nice.

nice find, the steep angle the head that is turned away from us really hurt this image, the IQ isn't there either. I'd try this one again :)
