There is a story to this shot. Took a family road trip for a few days out to the town of Bourke at the edge of the arid lands.
On Friday evening I downloaded the day's shots from two cameras onto my laptop desktop and deleted them from the cards.
To my horror, before I could do much with them the system SSD drive controller died taking pics and work files with it.
When I returned I plugged the drive into a reader but it was unreadable.
I was recommended to Ontrack Data Recovery (www.ontrack.com) and presto I got all of the data back including this pic.

I like the light and the view of the topised but something went seriously wrong with the IQ, it looks like an iphone image for a lack of a better word, crunchy details with lots of artifacts....hope you can re process

Love the bird and the pose. It looks a bit funky to me as well but not as bad as it does to Arash. Was this with the bare 100-400?

IAC, f/9 did well in covering the bird though it looks to me that focus is a bit more toward the back than on the face.

My biggest problem is with the light about 3 degrees or more from your left.

Ah, sorry, forgot the lens 600 f4 III. Not sure what has gone wrong as it wasn't much of a crop. maybe just the side light. And yes active focal point was lower back.

Great bird, lovely crop, perfect HA but it sure looks like something weird happened in PP.
    Looking forward to a redo.

Love the colors on this bird. The vertical framing was a nice decision.

Sorry folks, that's the best I can get out of the shot. Looks like I just missed critical focus.
