    Default Barred Owl

One of my favorite subjects and for once it wasn't surrounded by twigs. Shot with my 1DX II and 600mm IS II with the 2x III mounted on my tripod, 1200mm f/8 1/60 ISO 1000. Processed minimally in Lightroom and then I added some basic adjustments in PS to even out lighting on its face. Minimal noise reduction with Denoise AI and some sharpening via Sharpen AI to bring out some extra fine detail that the 2x softened. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Great birds... nice uncluttered shot, good eye contact, having catchlights is a real bonus, you
    don't always get them.
    Nice....

Well done on the sharpness. And a great bird. The BKGR is a bit too much (bright) for me.

    Where was it photographed?

The owl looks great and I like the BG colors a lot.
    I like the contemplative look.
I would dodge the vertical OOF branch to the left of owl the reduce its impact.

Thanks Arthur! I agree about the background, the gaps in the leaves are a little distracting. This was in Baltimore though, believe it or not we have a pretty decent amount of these around the more rural areas of the city.
